The kNOw Youth Media has worked with a diverse group of youth in Fresno for the last five years to develop media literacy, critial consciousness and community awareness through various media projects like our bi-annual magazine, mural projects and after school meetings.

This summer, the groundwork has been laid to start a sister program in Merced. We are excited to announce two info sessions for youth in the Merced area:

Friday, Sept. 9th – 4PM

LeGrand High, room 21C
12961 E. LeGrand Rd

Monday, Sept. 12th – 4PM

Merced United Way
658 W. Main St.

At these info sessions, interested youth will be given an in-depth look at the history of The kNOw, the need to expand to Merced, and what it is we plan to accomplish. We will also outline guidelines for youth participation in the cohort.

Applications to join the Merced youth cohort will be available at both info sessions. Space in the program is limited, and all applicants will hear within a few weeks the status of their application.
