Sparked by state delegate Ray Canterbury’s (R-West Virginia) suggestion, “it would be a good idea…if kids work for their lunches”, his response to Senate Bill 663, The kNOw gathered youth reaction to what this policy would mean for students and especially those who depend on free school meals.

WeConnect, an event held on Feb. 16 at the Fresno Fairgrounds, helped people with health care enrollment and it was also a resource fair. Many families came out to the event to learn more about health care changes and get resources like tax preparation and flu shots.

Over half of California’s children will soon have access to dental care because of the Affordable Care Act. The problem, according to a recent report, is that not enough dentists are willing to treat them.
