Gay Teen’s Death A Wake Up Call

Recently all of us at The kNOw took the time to discuss the death of Eric Borges and the issues he faced that might have led him to take his life when he was only 19. Borges, whose funeral was held this week, was a member of the LGBTQ (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Questioning) community and consequently was bullied quite often for it.

Phony class at Fresno City College shows areas for improvement

Right now, college students are enrolling in courses for the spring semester and classes are scarce. This summer, lack of classes contributed to a scam at Fresno City College (FCC), when a group of students took a class from a phony teacher.

Safe transportation still an issue

The word on the street is that the streets of Fresno need to be fixed. Many youth in this growing city are still waiting for this renovation to take place. Every broken lamp post, every pothole, and every sidewalk-less neighborhood hinders the way we travel.

Powell’s Generosity Leaves Questions

Flavored Milk Only Part of Student Health Picture

On July 1, the Los Angeles Unified School District stopped serving flavored milk. It’s the largest school district in the nation to do this, and now, Fresno Unified School District is deciding whether or not to do the same.
