A Sister’s Bond

I was there for you when you needed me most.
I was there for you when the world turned upside down and
Our lives fell apart.
I was there for you when you ran away and
Got in trouble with the cops.
I was there for you at every court hearing,
In person and in spirit.
I will always be there for you
Cause that’s a sister’s bond.
I know how you feel locked up with no freedom.
All alone.
But you’re really not, it just feels that way.
You’re locked up behind those bars
And I’m locked up inside myself,
Hiding from the world.
My world is my cell.
That’s a sister’s bond.
You’re finding yourself while I’m losing myself.
When you’re down, I will pick you up.
When I’m down, you pick me up.
We’ll always be there, no matter what happens.
That’s a sister’s bond.
